Bonuses at a casino with no Spanish licence: the wagering, the no-deposit offers and loyalty

The money

The percentage is the big number in the advert. The wagering requirement is the one that decides. Here is the arithmetic on Vave's bonus, the five clauses worth reading, why no-deposit offers are worth little and why cashback is worth more.

Bonuses are the first thing you see at a casino with no Spanish licence and the last thing worth deciding on. The percentages are high and the ceilings enormous; the conditions are long. This page gives you the arithmetic for reading any bonus in a minute, and tells you where the real value sits for someone who plays often.

Vave's bonus, with the sums

Vave gives 150% on the first deposit, from 20 USDT up to 120,000 USDT, with ×35 wagering on the bonus. On a deposit of 100 USDT:

5,250 USDT in bets is not 5,250 USDT lost: it is the sum of every bet you place, win or lose. But each bet carries the house edge, and over that volume the expected loss is real. The package continues on the second, third and fourth deposits at 100%, 50% and 25%.

The Vave promotions page with its deposit bonuses
The Vave welcome package covers four deposits: 150% on the first, then 100%, 50% and 25%. While a bonus is live, a withdrawal waits for the wagering.

The five clauses worth reading

  1. The wagering, and what it is calculated on. On the bonus alone, or on bonus plus deposit? The second doubles or triples the betting needed. At Vave it is on the bonus.
  2. How much each game contributes. Slots usually count 100%; roulette, blackjack and live casino, far less or nothing.
  3. The maximum bet while a bonus is live. Going over it, even once, can void the bonus and the winnings.
  4. The deadline. How many days you have to finish the wagering.
  5. The excluded games. A list to read beforehand, not afterwards.
The bonus section of TrustDice
Before you accept a bonus, read its wagering requirement: it is the condition that holds a withdrawal up most often.

Why the percentage misleads

A 300% bonus with ×50 wagering on bonus plus deposit is worse than a 100% bonus with ×30 on the bonus, whatever the advert says. Compare all three on 100 USDT:

BonusBonus receivedWageringBetting needed
100%, ×30 on the bonus100 USDT100 × 303,000 USDT
150%, ×35 on the bonus (Vave)150 USDT150 × 355,250 USDT
300%, ×50 on bonus + deposit300 USDT400 × 5020,000 USDT

The third gives more balance and asks for almost seven times the betting of the first. Always divide the betting needed by the bonus you receive: the lower that number comes out, the better the bonus.

The welcome bonuses of BetFury
Big percentages, big wagering: the higher the bonus, the more betting it takes before anything can be withdrawn.

No-deposit bonuses

They are advertised everywhere: a few free spins or a small balance with nothing paid in. They are worth little. The amounts are small, the wagering is usually higher than on a welcome offer, and what you can withdraw is capped low. They are not a trap; they are a trial. Use them to see what a casino is like from the inside, not to win anything.

Where the value is: loyalty

For anyone playing regularly, loyalty programmes, cashback and rakeback are worth more than any welcome bonus. They return part of what you bet or lose, often with no wagering at all, and they work on every session rather than only on the first.

The Vave VIP programme
Vave's loyalty programme. For anyone who plays regularly, cashback and rakeback are worth more than the welcome bonus.

When you compare two programmes, look at three things:

  • What it is calculated on: what you bet (rakeback) or what you lose (cashback).
  • How often it pays: daily, weekly, by tier.
  • Whether the payment carries wagering of its own. The best cashback is the kind you can withdraw as it is.

The bonus and the withdrawal

While a bonus is live, a withdrawal waits. Ask to withdraw before the wagering is finished and you will normally lose the bonus and everything won with it. At Vave there is also a rule that applies with no bonus at all: the deposit is wagered three times before it can be withdrawn, under clause 8.11. The rest of the withdrawal rules, with the documents and the caps, are in deposits and withdrawals.

Bonus or no bonus?

If you play a little and want to be able to withdraw when you feel like it, declining the bonus is often the better move. If you are going to play a fair amount anyway, the bonus buys you more playing time on the same deposit, as long as you read the conditions. Either way, the bonus does not change the casino's arithmetic.

The casinos on our list of casinos with no Spanish licence are not scored on their bonuses, because the offers change weekly; we explain that in how we score. Vave's bonus, together with our own deposit and withdrawals, is in the Vave review.

Frequently asked questions

What is Vave's welcome bonus?
150% on the first deposit, from 20 USDT up to 120,000 USDT, with ×35 wagering on the bonus. The package continues on the following deposits at 100%, 50% and 25%, each with its own conditions.
What does ×35 wagering mean?
That the bonus has to be bet 35 times over before it can be withdrawn. On a 150 USDT bonus, that is 5,250 USDT in bets. Not every game counts the same: slots usually count 100%, table games less.
Is a no-deposit bonus worth taking?
As a trial, yes; as a way of winning, almost never. They are usually small amounts or a handful of free spins, with high wagering and a low cap on what can be withdrawn.
Can I play without a bonus?
At most casinos, yes: you decline it at the deposit or ask support. Without a bonus your balance is yours and comes out under the general rules, which at Vave include wagering the deposit three times (clause 8.11).
